Today, the traditional setting of one television (TV) set that displays content for the present audience is still widely spread. Recently, mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets are increasingly often used to supplemented traditional TV setup by second screen applications. Yet, existing concepts do not support users to share content from a personal device with others using multiple second screen applications simultaneously. In this paper, we present an original concept for a TV setup: smarTVision allows to place in addition to the existing screens any number of projected screens in their environment. We present a space of input and output options and detail six example applications that illustrate the bene ts of smarTVision. Finally, we present results of a qualitative evaluation of our smarTVision prototype: participants praised aspects regarding interactivity, sharing options, and the use of private and public displays.
