It's critical to understand where this terrible disease comes from in order to combat it... There are several causes at work here, just as there are with any major issue.
To begin with, our lifestyles are becoming increasingly sedentary. The days when we ploughed fields for twelve hours a day or mined coal in mines are long gone... The days when most individuals had to devote their working hours to physical labor are long gone. Most people nowadays work sitting or standing motionless, and it goes without saying that there isn't much effort involved, at least in terms of physical exertion.
