This book organises and presents Alan’s notes collected over a period of some twenty years, making for the first time his thoughts and approach to t’ai chi available to a wider community. Following Taoist ontology, the book contains detailed and advanced guidance on the internal qualities of t'ai chi at the three levels of Body, Chi and Mind-Spirit (Shen). Additionally, the book contains guidance on those internal qualities to be cultivated in the practice of ‘pushing hands’ which lead to deeper levels of t’ai chi skill.
